For many years, Miriam Damico made Moonglow Inn a memorable summer home for families and active seniors from New York and Florida. The cool Catskill Mountains were a wonderful place to spend the hot summer months. But as of January 2002, Moonglow Inn is no longer in operation. After 59 years in business, and at the urging of her family and friends, Miriam reluctantly decided it was time to sell and retire. Since then she has moved into a beautiful condo, overlooking a golf course and lakes, in sunny south Florida.

With families having outgrown their need for summer bungalows, the 1980's brought change, which came in the form of senior citizens. For the next twenty years Moonglow was the summer home of active retired adults from New York and Florida. Everything that was needed to enjoy their stay was included. All they had to do was bring clothes and a toothbrush.

Moonglow was one mile from the town of Loch Sheldrake which had a lake with boating, a movie house, stores, restaurants, and the Sullivan County Community College. The college had an adult summer program offering various courses, and they also performed concerts and plays. Directly across the street from Moonglow was the entrance to Lochmore Park. It was a lovely walk through the park on a paved road that lead to Morningside Lake. At the lake there was boating and fishing. Also, located at the park were two public PGA golf courses and tennis courts.
